THE MIRACLES OF ME'RAJ
One of the greatest and very well known Miracles of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is his physical Ascension to the Heavens and beyond, known as the Me'raj or Ascension. This journey apart from being a miracle is a conglomeration of Miracles and has been recorded in the Quraan as well as the various books of Hadith. Some of the miracles of the journey are recorded hereunder:
1. The roof of Umme Hani's home opened as the Mala'ikah came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam);
2. His chest was cut open;
3. His heart was removed and washed
4. He was made to sit on Buraaq and travel at a great speed. Each leap of Buraaq reached as far as the eye could see;
5. Jibraeel (Alayhis Salaam) accompanied him on Buraaq;
6. He travelled in an extremely short while from Makkah to Jerusalem;
7. He saw Moosa (Alayhis Salaam) engaged in Salaat in his grave;

9. He saw Dajjal and the doorkeeper of Jahannum;
10. He was welcomed by thousands of Ambiyaa at Baitul Maqdas at Jerusalem;
11. He led the Salaat while all the Ambiyaa followed;
12. He ascended the heavens upon a special jewel encrusted ladder brought from Jannat while the Mala'ikah flanked him from the right and the left;
13. He passed through each of the seven heavens meeting the Ambiyaa there;
14. He saw Baitul Ma'moor;

19. He went to Sareeful Aqlaam, the place where the scratching of the Pens is heard as matters pertaining to destiny are being recorded;
20. He was seated upon Rafraf (a special green carpet) which carried him to the Supreme Court of Allah;
21. He saw the Noor of Allah;
22. He spoke to Allah;
23. When he returned home, the kuffar mocked at him refusing to believe that he had undertaken the journey of Me'raj. They questioned him about their caravans which were on the route to Shaam. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) gave a detailed description of the caravans, his encounter with them and even specified as to which day these caravan would reach Makkah. They arrived exactly as he had predicted and they too testified of having seen Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) on that night.
24. The Kuffaar questioned Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) about the finer details of Masjidul Aqsa, such details which no traveller usually cares to take note of, such as how many doors, windows, shelves etc. were in the Masjid. Allah showed Masjidul Aqsa to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) while he was in Makkah, as he answered all the questions posed by the Kuffaar. The above are some of the Miracles of which took place during the journey of Me'raj.
Once Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) visited Hadhrat Sa'd ibn Waqqaas (Radhiallahu Anhu) who was ill. Sa'd ibn Waqqaas (Radhiallahu Anhu) says, "Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) placed his noble hand upon my forehead, chest and stomach, and I can still feel the (comforting) coolness of his hand upon my body. (Ahmad)
