Chicken Pox & Measles

CHICKENPOX

This is one of the most common as well as the most acutely contagious diseases of childhood. Superficial eruptions of flat transparent blisters appear in successive crops on different parts of the body. The patient may run a fever and feel pain in the back and legs. No medication is necessary because the disease disappears once it has run its course. Some medical authorities do not recommend medicines containing calamine as this substance may reach toxic levels in the body through absorption via the lesions. For the satisfaction of the parents and child, the following natural remedies are recommended.

1. Make a paste of some fresh neem leaves (azadirachta indica: margosa, syringa) by grinding them. Apply to the affected areas.
2. Eat fresh figs daily.
3. Homeopathic remedy: Rhus tox 30CH is useful.                                                                                                                                   

MEASLES

This is a childhood disease that is acute, highly communicable, and common through the world. Characteristic symptoms resemble those of the common cold with Fever and the early appearance of a rash on the mucous membrane of the mouth and later over the entire body.

1. Combine a tablespoon of juice of bitter gourd leaves with a teaspoon of honey and 2 pinches of turmeric powder. Give the patient to drink twice a day.
2. Oranges are an excellent liquid food in measles. The fruit or its juice gives energy, increases urinary output, and promotes resistance against other possible infections.
